- This piece was inspired by the birth of my first daughter, Eva Luz. During my pregnancy, I would often go to the ocean to sing prayers for her to come out safe and sound and to live a long and joyous life. 'Invocando Yemaya' translates as 'Invoking Yemaya'; Yemaya comes from the santeria tradition and refers to the great mother who lives in and rules over the seas. It was to her I sang my prayers.
